“Dr. Amina saw both my husband and myself. She is such a caring, patient, and understanding doctor. She did not rush us and she offered positive solutions for us both. I have already recommended two people to visit her and would return with no hesitation if I need to. Such a refreshing welcome difference to other doctors I have visited in the past.”

“Thank you so much for your time and patience at my appointment yesterday. I truly felt listened to and felt that you understood my difficulties with my current health. You didn't just look at the symptom and prescribe you took the time to look at my health holistically, which is what I hoped for. I am hopeful that my health can start to be restored with your guidance and support over the coming weeks ”

At London Bioidentical Hormones, we believe in the importance of preventative medicine, as opposed to purely curative.
We are a fully online clinic that specialises in treating a variety of hormonal imbalances with bioidentical hormones and a holistic, functional medicine approach.
We help our patients achieve the best possible results through highly personalised treatment plans to optimise their health.
HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT...
Yes. We believe that in current times, being able to access treatment from the comfort of your own home is the way forward. It provides access for those who live in remote areas or have physical limitations. Studies have shown that patients perceive the quality of care or communication in telemedicine to be the same or better than at the traditional office visits and almost one quarter said the quality of telehealthcare was better than an in-person appointment.
Bioidentical hormones are precise duplicates of the body’s own hormones. Taking these hormones is adding something that the body already recognises and knows how to metabolise. Conversely, conventional HRT usually includes hormone-like drugs that are not identical in structure do the body’s own, such as conjugated equine oestrogens or synthetic progestins. As well as binding to hormone receptors, these hormone-like drugs may bind to other receptors, causing unwanted side effects.
Bioidentical hormones may be prescribed in licensed standardised dose products, or unlicensed individually tailored doses to meet the individual’s needs, using a compounding pharmacy. All our patients have regular monitoring including breast screening, pelvic ultrasound screening and blood tests. Options will be discussed on an ongoing basis and the final decision of what feels right for you is always yours.
Synthetic progestins have been shown to have a negative impact on breast tissue, vasculature and cholesterol profiles whereas bioidentical progesterone has not been shown to do so. Bioidentical progesterone appears to have protective benefit for the breast, lower LDL cholesterol, lower blood pressure, act as a diuretic, and is safe to use during pregnancy. The BMS guidelines state that there is evidence that bioidentical progesterone is safer than synthetic progestins.
If bioidentical hormones are made up at an individualized dose for a person, this will be done by a compounding pharmacy. Individualized doses of medication are unlicensed.
We will decide this issue with each patient individually. Circumstances may differ depending on age, symptoms and lifestyle factors.
You can either get standardised licensed bioidentical hormones from a regular pharmacy or, if we are making up an individual dose for you, we use one of the following UK compounding pharmacies:

We test hormone levels before prescribing and on an ongoing basis. The hormone testing that we do is not available on the NHS and please understand that we therefore will not ask the NHS to carry this out. If you have had blood tests done recently with your NHS GP please bring all recent/relevant test results with you to your appointment.
Blood tests or urine tests for hormones may be done when your symptoms have changed.
Often when we start treatment, people will notice a difference within the first three weeks but give it up to 8 weeks – this is when we meet to review. However, sometimes it can take longer, in which case we will work closely with you to get the balance right.
Continue taking your hormones as you normally would. There is no need to take extra to compensate for the missed dose.
